The director of Administración Portuaria Integral de Quintana Roo, (Apiqroo), Alicia Ricalde Magaña reported that with over one million 700 thousand pesos investment, the ramp of descent at maritime terminal San Miguel, Cozumel was opened, which transported 4.5 million passengers in 2018.
The state official said that the work was tendered according to the law, the company that carried out the works was “Ejecución de Proyectos de Ingeniería Construccion”, which delivered on time and within the 144 days that was projected to perform it.
The work is part of the actions for the modernization of port infrastructure of Quintana Roo, it involved the construction of a ramp 66 meters long by 2.50 wide at the top, and 1.40 meters in the lower ramps.
Alicia Ricalde reported that the execution of the work was carried out with materials of the highest quality to ensure the integrity of the thousands of people who use the services of the maritime terminal, since the safety of users is one of the premises of governor Carlos Joaquin.
The Director said that work will expedite the movement of people attending the festivities of the Carnival of Cozumel, which is celebrated this weekend.
